Pioneer Woman Died at Celina
Wife of J.W. (Uncle Whit) Kerr, Victim of Accident, Followed by Pneumonia.
Mrs. Belle Kerr died at her home in Celina last Thursday night at 8:30 o'clock. Mrs. Kerr, a day or two before, fell and broke her hip from which pneumonia later developed, causing her death. She was the wife of J. W. (Uncle Whit) Kerr, and was 81 years old. She was formerly Miss Belle McQuirter. Deceased had been living near Celina for more than forty years. She was a member of the Presbyterian church She is survived by her husband and five step-children. The step-children are: Dave, Frank, Julian, Albert and John Kerr, all of whom were at her bedside when the end came. Mrs. Kerr was born May 5th, 1846.
Funeral services were held in the Celina Presbyterian church Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock conduced by Rev. McCluney. Burial followed in the old Celina cemetery. J. W. Kerr is an uncle of W. W. and W. M. Kerr of McKinney..
